My work consists of paper—any type of paper! I am also very enthusiastic about repurposing things made of paper that would otherwise hit the trash dump. Therefore, I am constantly on the lookout to save a book, a magazine, or my personal favorites---music sheets—In essence, anything paper that can be turned into something else, which also includes things from nature that I pick up walking in neighborhoods, the beach, or the woods. As a result, art emerges in the form of handmade books, sculptural altered books, Scherenschnitte (Sharon-sh-net) or Papercutting, the American word for the same art form utilizing all my finds. I use X-acto knives, drills, hammers, glue, sewing machine, needle and thread…. I am always searching and pushing the limits to using contradictory methods when making art.
